Arapahoe County Food Inspections: Two Portals After 2023

Arapahoe County changed health authorities on January 1, 2023: Arapahoe County Public Health (ACPH) replaced Tri-County Health Department. That date identifies the new health authority. It does not prove ACPH holds every earlier inspection file or divide the public databases cleanly.

The county’s Inspection Look Up page links both the ACPH portal and the Colorado inspection portal. Start with ACPH for a current county profile, then use Colorado as a second source when the history is incomplete. Keep the issuing agency, physical address, facility identifier, inspection date, and report type together before joining records.

ACPH’s retail-food program includes restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, breweries, and mobile food units; temporary-event operations use a separate route. Select Retail Food for the food operation you are researching, then match the physical premises. Do not mix child care, pool, body-art, or septic results into that history.

Start with the ACPH facility profile

  1. Open the ACPH portal and select Program Type: Retail Food.
  2. Match the facility name and street address, then open its profile.
  3. Open each dated inspection from the profile instead of treating the profile itself as a report.

The verified profile contained separate Routine and Re-Inspection events. Their HTML reports displayed Result and Observations & Corrective Actions, plus a link labeled View Original Inspection PDF. The PDF was not opened, so use the HTML fields that are visible and verify any additional PDF fields directly.

Keep the sequence, not just the newest label. In the one facility history checked for this guide, Re-Inspection Required was followed by a later Pass, and the later report still listed observations. The individual report did not visibly assign Priority, Priority Foundation, or Core labels to those observations.

Our reinspection and follow-up guide explains why a later event should not erase the original report.

Read Result and the portal legend separately

The portal home describes a lower-is-better risk index: 0–49 Pass, 50–109 Re-Inspection Required, and 110 or more Closed. The individual HTML reports reviewed for this guide showed Result but no numeric risk-index total. Do not calculate a score from the observations or call Pass a blank report.

The same portal introduction explains Priority as a direct control for illness hazards, Priority Foundation as support for those controls, and Core as general sanitation and maintenance. Use those meanings only when the report actually supplies the category.

Read each observation and corrective-action note on its own terms. The food-inspection violations guide shows how to separate a cited requirement, correction during a visit, and later verification without inventing a point total.

Do not use 2023 as a portal cutoff

The county describes the Colorado portal as a place to look up past restaurant inspections across Colorado counties. In a bounded check, however, the portal’s default 2026 range returned one Arapahoe County record. A separate January 1 through December 31, 2022 check returned No results found.

Neither result creates a history rule. The 2026 row shows that portal dates overlap the ACPH era; the empty 2022 query does not prove no inspection occurred. Search both systems when needed, then compare issuer, address, operation, date, and identifiers. Do not count two rows as the same event until the records support that match.

When names changed after the authority transition, search the address and a former name in each portal. A newer date in the Colorado portal does not establish that its record belongs to the same ACPH profile; preserve the portal and issuer with the event.

Request the missing record from the correct custodian

Use Arapahoe County’s public-health CORA route only for records held by ACPH. Give the current and former operation names, complete address, facility or profile identifier, inspection date or narrow range, and the document needed. Name the Routine or Re-Inspection report, original PDF, corrective-action record, closure order, or dated approval to resume operations rather than asking for an undefined complete file.

The portal legend says a Closed facility needs prior approval before reopening, but no actual closure or approval was reviewed here. Preserve the specific order and approval when status matters.

For a Tri-County-era record or a record issued by another authority, ask ACPH to identify the likely custodian. Do not assume the ACPH CORA form reaches every earlier archive or that every earlier record transferred to the county.

Sources were checked September 27, 2026. A dated inspection is not a guarantee of current food safety. A missing portal result does not establish a complete history.
